As a queer writer, Pride month is something I have and will always fully support. Our brothers and sisters in the LGBTQ+ community need as many allies as possible to help beat the discrimination and spite against them.
All of my pages, whether it's Instagram, BlueSky, this website or writing platforms, are completely safe spaces and I work hard to pull out the weeds that leave their hate. I won't stand for it. And I won't have it affect anyone needing a safe space, if only for a few seconds....
After I received the email this morning, I, like many authors, have made the decision to withdraw all of my books from the Draft2Digital platform.
The introduction of a 'maintenance fee' as well as an annual fee if your books earn you less than $100 per year is ridiculous.
I stuck it out with them when they made changes to the withdrawal threshold, effectively making it much more difficult to make a withdrawal.
But these new changes will target budding authors, and that just ain't okay.

I've been on Substack a while now - since April last year, to be more precise. And while I love using it as a newsletter, I'm still unsure on the 'paid' aspect. Yeah, I love earning money (who doesn't?) and using this feature as a way to supplement my meagre author wage is great. Maybe I need to write more mini-fics and bonus chapters for it. What are your thoughts on this?
As most of you know, I am against AI being used in a creative way, in that I think it's immoral for AI to be used in creative spaces. It takes jobs away from humans. Amazing artists are being forced to either raise their prices or give all together because of AI. Writers are being falsely accused of using AI whenever they try out a new writing style or if they use the em dash (I use em dashes and will not stop using them either!).

As it's a Bank Holiday here in England, my son decided he was taking me to play mini golf over at The Birdie Bunker and I won! (makes a change!). Of course, we had to have a coffee and cake afterwards
The Birdie Bunker is located in the Midlands, England, and is very family friendly, accessible and loads of fun! The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble.

Yep, it's that time of the year where I close my laptop for a few weeks and enjoy some time with my friends and family, and go travelling.

I know many writers don't like Pinterest as it's just another social media app. But for me, Pinterest has so many useful tools that other social media platforms don't have.
I'm able to create mood boards that set visual scenes in my stories. I also have boards on there that hold pins of how I see what my characters look like.
Honestly, I enjoy using it and creating pins.
